Mailleux raced this year in F3 Euro Series for Signature but will during 2009 drive Signature’s LMP1 Oreca Judd in both the Le Mans Series and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This will not only be Mailleux’s debut into Sportscar racing but will also be the Signature team’s endurance racing debut.

“I am very happy to stay with the Signature team for this new challenge. We have enjoyed a successful collaboration for some time now and I am delighted to be able to continue it into the future. The world of sportscar racing is completely new to me though, so I will have a lot to learn. However, I’m fortunate to have a great time behind me and also a great team mate in Pierre Ragues.”

On March 21 the R15 will debut during the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. According to Dr. Wolfgang Ulrich, head of motorsport at Audi, the step from the R10 to the R15 is much bigger than it was from the R8 to the R10. The new prototype comes equipped with a smaller, lighter and more efficient TDI engine.

The first private tests of the new LMP1 prototype are scheduled for later this year and the car will only be presented to the public immediately before the race at Sebring, in preparation for the three car assault in the 24 Hours of Le Mans later in the year.
