The Honda Racing F1 Team becomes the Brawn GP Formula One Team
Honda Motor Company and Ross Brawn has confirmed this morning that they have reached an agreement for the Honda Racing F1 Team. The ownership of the team has been passed to Ross Brawn and the Brawn GP Formula One Team has now been born.
The new team has made an agreement with Mercedes-Benz who will supply the team with their FO108W engines which will now power three teams (McLaren, Force India and Brawn GP).
The driver line-up was also confirmed and Brawn GP will rely on the extremely experienced team of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. Rubens Barrichello made his Grand Prix debut for Jordan in1993 while Jenson made his debut for Williams in the year 2000, after only two years of single seater racing.
It is now a race against time as there are only 20 days left until the new Brawn GP cars will take the first free practice of the 2009 season in Melbourne, Australia.
