Italian F3 champion joins Formula Two

The Spanish F3 champion joined last week and now the 2008 Italian Formula 3 champion Mirko Bortolotti joins the F2 championship. Mirko finished the championship ahead of Italia’s A1GP driver Edoardo Piscopo and managed to score no less than nine wins and fifteen podiums in the 16 races that were held. He got a nice early Christmas present as well when he got to test the Ferrari Formula 1 car as the Italian F3 championship prize.

He joins the championship as a Red Bull Junior and is the third Red Bull driver in the series after Robert Wickens and Mikhail Aleshin were confirmed earlier.

“Having already driven a Formula One car, I am desperate to have this experience again in my career. Through this chance in F2 and my relationship with Red Bull, I hope this dream can be realised in the future.”
